Welcome to Size Matters, the approved fanlisting for TricK: The Comic at TAFL and hopefully soon-to-be-approved fanlisting for the TricK television series at thefanlistings.org.
What is TricK?
TricK is a Japanese television drama. It ran for three seasons, a movie, and a movie-length TV special. Afterwards, other mediums, such as novels and, of course, the manga, were released based off of the TV show.
Yamada Naoko's dream is to be a famous magician. Unfortunately, although clever and armed with many tricks, she is often fired from her jobs because she can't hold an audience. She is told about an ad in the paper placed by Ueda Jirou, a fairly well-known physicist instructor, who will pay a large reward for anyone who can prove they are a spiritualist.
Yamada goes to Ueda's office and is able to fool him with a simple magic trick. Because he ends up bribing her by paying her rent, she is inlisted to help him prove a local cult leader and spiritualist to be a fraud. Of course, the antics ensue!
The rest of the series runs the same way. There is a lot of humor mixed in with very serious storylines. Sometimes it's slapstick, sometimes it's clever wordplay, and of course a bit of adult humor as well. As for the plots themselves, there is almost always murder involved, and Yamada's mysterious shaman background often plays a roll in things.
What is a fanlisting?
A fanlisting is literally a list of fans who enjoy a particular topic. Really, that's it. It's a means to show your appreciation for something and meet other people who enjoy the same thing.
Why "Size Matters"?
Um...are you SURE you're a fan of the show? Heehee! I suppose the name might be better for a Yamada/Ueda pairing site, but there's just so many jokes about Yamada's flat breasts and Ueda's large penis in the series that I couldn't help but choose that name!
